A Long Few Days

I have to keep this one short.  Last night I ended up going to dinner with a vendor. I had wine and whole wheat pasta with braised short ribs.  It was so good!  Even though it was an early night, 9:30, when I got back to my room (vs 10:30 the night before) I was so tired, I just headed to bed.  I didn't even turn on the TV.

I was tired this morning, but was excited to finish the conference and head home.  Unfortunately, I got a call from Animal Care & Control (ACC).  Dad had sat down with the garage door opener in his pocket and off they went.  They got really far today and I spend almost 2 hours calling dad, ACC, and the people who picked them up.  All I wanted to do was get home but I didn't want to get on the highway until I knew everyone was safe.

I was almost too tired to drive by the time everyone made it home.  The last 30 minutes of the drive was horrible.  I basically walked in and laid down on the sofa for a nap.  It felt so good to sleep.  Unfortunately, I didn't wake up in time to swim.  After all the food this week, I needed the exercise!  It doesn't help that I have the first Warriors pre-season game on Monday, so unless I can get my butt out of bed Sunday  morning, I'm not swimming until Wednesday.

That being said, I'm really scared to weigh in tomorrow.  I know I'm up several pounds and the stress of today isn't going to help.  But I do know that the best thing for me to do is head to the meeting and just keep going.  That's the only way I'm going to get back on track.
